I used the DRV8833 Dual Motor Driver Carrier (linked here) and a particle photon.
I am just going to photo dump. Here's my cute cat Bonbon and then the electronics for the tank. My github repo is in the main description. I just had to do a bit of coding and some soldering for the motor connections and voila.





Future steps when I get back home are to make a shell casing for the tank that maybe is just a stuffed animal, as well as hook up a better battery system than I had initially.
